A meeting is scheduled with the client to understand where they are coming from. The idea behind the project, the client's requirements, expectations, and key deliverables are understood in a detailed discussion. General equations will be narrowed down to specifics, and a basic outline for the same will be discussed in this phase.
Once the outline is finalized in the previous step, the scoping of the project needs to be done. Scoping decides the end goal of what the project aims to achieve in broad terms. Deadlines, various features, and functionalities would also be decided. The manpower required the number of hours needed to be put into the project, and cost estimate would be arrived at in this phase.
Here, more specific detailing will be done. For example, requirements that are to be finalized (in exact numbers) and the cost estimate for the same to be arrived at. Also, manpower dimensioning would be looked into. On a case to case basis, time, and motion study would be done to arrive at exact numbers.The different levels of expertise required and the appropriate person suiting the objectives would also be planned in this phase. Finally, a detailed roadmap of how to achieve the projected goal is also planned.
The final draft of what can be done with the deliverables is done in this phase. Also, the plan, why, what, how, and the phases in which it would be achieved will be planned and explained in detail. All changes discussed in the previous stages would be further contemplated, and apt suggestions would be incorporated in the final proposal.
All of the client’s requirements will be mapped and fashioned into a solution, ultimately turning the client's dreams to reality.
